What medical center transportation covers

Medical center transportation provides reliable rides to and from the South Texas Medical Center in northwest San Antonio. We serve patients, family members, medical sales representatives, visiting specialists, and hospital staff. Trips include SAT airport transfers, hotel-to-hospital rides, and same-day outpatient service for appointments or procedures. Each ride is scheduled in advance with a professional chauffeur who understands the importance of punctuality. We also provide return pickups after surgery or same-day treatment when requested.

Who uses this service in San Antonio

Patients travel to University Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Baptist Medical Center, and UT Health San Antonio for specialized care. Families from Austin, Corpus Christi, and the Hill Country book rides for extended treatment stays. Pharmaceutical and medical device reps visit clinics and administrative offices throughout the medical center. International patients flying into SAT use our service for comfortable transport to nearby extended-stay hotels. The medical district also hosts conferences and continuing education events that bring visiting professionals into town. Senior residents of Stone Oak and the Dominion use us for regular specialist visits.

Pricing and how it works

Sedan transfers from the Medical Center to SAT start at $130. Rides from the Medical Center to downtown, the Pearl, or Alamo Heights are priced by distance and vehicle type. Hourly charter is available for reps with multiple clinic visits in one day. Longer intercity runs to New Braunfels start at $125 and Austin starts at $235. Gratuity and any hospital parking fees are added separately. We recommend booking at least 24 hours ahead for standard appointments. Last-minute medical rides are handled when possible, but vehicle availability is not guaranteed.

An honest limitation

We are not a medical transport company. We cannot provide wheelchairs, oxygen, stretchers, or attendant care. Passengers needing medical equipment or wheelchair-accessible vehicles must request these services in advance. We will confirm availability or direct you to a provider better suited to clinical needs. Our drivers are not trained medical personnel.

Getting around the South Texas Medical Center

The Medical Center spreads along Medical Drive, Floyd Curl Drive, Wurzbach Road and Fredericksburg Road, with University Hospital, UT Health San Antonio and Methodist Hospital among the larger campuses. Each has its own patient drop-off loops and garages, so share the building name and entrance when you book. Your chauffeur pulls into the drop-off lane rather than a garage, and for return rides waits at the same entrance.

What this service is, and what it is not

This is private chauffeured transportation for staff, visiting clinicians, patients who can travel seated, and their families. It is not an ambulance or non-emergency medical transport, and standard vehicles are not wheelchair accessible; accessible vehicles need separate arrangement in advance. If your return time depends on a procedure or discharge, an hourly booking or a call to dispatch when you are ready works better than guessing a fixed time; same-day requests are accepted when capacity allows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the driver wait during my appointment?

Yes. Hourly charter allows the chauffeur to wait, or we can schedule a return pickup at a set time.

Do you serve all hospitals in the Medical Center?

Yes. We serve University Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Baptist Medical Center, and other facilities in the district.

Is this service covered by insurance?

No. We are a private car service and do not bill insurance or Medicare.

Can family members ride along?

Yes. A sedan seats up to three passengers and an SUV up to six, so relatives can travel with the patient. Mention the headcount when you book.

What if I do not know my discharge or pickup time?

Book an hourly block if the window is short, or call dispatch when you are ready. Same-day requests are accepted when capacity allows, so a scheduled time is still the safest option.
